Chris and Dee run the Dove in Dargate. Yes, its a pub, lovely setting nice vibes everywhere and the garden's to die for with a fun outside bar and a make-shift stage. I mention the stage because stages are good for bands - helps them stand just a bit higher than the punters and, with the help of microphone and PA, gives them ultimate authority in the situation (possibly).
Chris responded to an e-mail I sent him. "Love yer stuff - let's do something", so I went to see him and we found we had plenty we could talk about. There's not a great deal of room in the pub itself for anything more than a trio (which he does promote - last Friday of the month), but outside there's lots of space and they've obviously gone out of their way to provide a great space for entertainments.
Thing is, when someone has an enthusiasm for music, drama, whatever, it's infectious. Most musical events are staged despite the over-riding nagatives involved, the financial risks, the bother of organising and preparing and, of course, the clean-up afterwards!
Chris and Dee still have that glint in their collective eye - they want to do stuff, create outstanding evenings, weekends - enjoy the thrill beyond the bother.
So, Wednesday 5th November - Fireworks night then! GLASSHOUSE at the Dove, in the back garden, its gonna be something!! (weather-cover of course - see the pic with the parachute!).
